AMD agrees to acquire Fei-Fei Li's World Labs for $8.2 billion in stock.

Reuters reported that the all-stock deal is expected to close by the end of 2026. World Labs, founded by AI researcher Fei-Fei Li, had raised about $1 billion and focuses on systems that can perceive, generate and reason about three-dimensional environments.

Li is expected to join AMD as an executive vice president and chief scientist. The purchase would give AMD a prominent research team as demand grows for physical-AI workloads that connect models to robots and simulated worlds.
