Raytheon Australia said the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System, or NASAMS, had entered full operational service with the Australian Army after a multi-year delivery and training program.

The Australian configuration combines locally designed CEA radars, Kongsberg’s Fire Distribution Centre, high-mobility launchers on Hawkei vehicles, a multispectral ground system and an effector suite that includes AMRAAM, AMRAAM-ER and AIM-9X missiles. The announcement is a manufacturer statement, not an independent operational assessment.
