BMW said on September 8 that its next combustion-engine 3 Series is completing a final round of summer driving-dynamics tests at its Miramas proving ground. The development program includes four- and six-cylinder engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
The company is tuning lateral dynamics and ride comfort ahead of planned production in the second half of 2026. A rear-drive Drift Moment feature for the M Performance version is planned for 2027. These are manufacturer development plans, not independent road-test results.
