France’s Atomic Energy Commission and quantum startup Alice & Bob said they will develop software that connects quantum processors with conventional supercomputers. Their work will extend the largely open-source Qaptiva framework created by state-owned supercomputer maker Bull.
The aim is to send only suitable portions of a workload to a quantum processor while a classical system handles the rest. CEA already hosts systems from Quandela and Pasqal and plans to install an Alice & Bob quantum computer in 2027.
