Collins deploys its first Tower MicroELITE display at San Bernardino

San Bernardino International Airport became the first site to deploy Tower MicroELITE, which integrates surveillance tracks into a compact controller display. Collins says the product is derived from the FAA-certified STARS interface.

The company says the system has FAA System Design Approval as an Airborne Position Reference Tool and uses commercial off-the-shelf hardware. The announcement did not disclose the airport’s purchase price or a wider deployment schedule.
