Brazilian carbon-removal startup Mombak announced the first close of Amazon Reforestation Fund II, which aims to raise $150 million. It will also have access to a 200-million-real credit line from Brazil's Climate Fund through development bank BNDES.
Mombak signed a multiyear carbon-removal offtake agreement with Salesforce. Its first $120 million fund financed restoration on 15 Amazon farms where nearly 15 million native trees were planted; the company expects its second credit issuance, roughly 80,000 metric tons, by the end of 2026.
