Saab said it received a SEK 2.9 billion order from Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration for continued future-fighter concept work. The 2026–2028 program covers advanced studies, flying and ground demonstrators, and technology development for possible manned and unmanned combat-aircraft systems, with options for 2029 and 2030.
This is a research and concept-development order, not a decision to manufacture a new operational aircraft. The demonstrators are intended to inform later choices about Sweden's future combat-air capability. Budget, schedule and performance beyond the stated work remain subject to those future decisions.
