Reuters reported that one of the spacecraft's three main engines shut down prematurely. Even so, Starship deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites at an altitude of about 269 kilometers before completing a controlled splashdown in the Pacific.
The flight was also Starship's first revenue mission, moving the program from tests carrying simulators to operational payload delivery. SpaceX still needs to demonstrate repeatability, rapid reuse and reliable in-space operations at scale.
